For this practice, we had been tasked with making a portrait of a woman using mainly the curvature tool.
First off I started with the head, Using a guiding line over the reference to create half of the head shape. Once I filled it in, I then reflect a copy of it by (Right click>Transform>Reflect> Copy). I then move it while pressing shift to the other side to keep it steady.
Then I created the facial features as well as her accessories. afterward, I created the hair using the ellipse tool. To give it its wavy texture, I went to the Effects Layer, Clicked Distort and transform, then ZigZag. To give it different colors, I made two other copies of the blue one (Alt>Drag) and adjusted them to what angle I wanted them at. Then, I select every circle and click on the Shape Builder Tool icon. I drag my curser around the areas I didn’t want the circles in and made it look like a full afro.
I gave it a shadow by creating a crescent black shape, Turning down the opacity, and Doing the same thing i had done to create the afro.
I finished off by making the body and giving it a shadow aswell.
